I was given the chance to design and illustrate a short history travel book on Kyōto, Japan. I wanted the design to be simple, clean and reflective of the Japanese flag. I hand illustrated artwork for each page, imported into AI and vectorised which sat alongside short text. I used circles of red around each illustration as a symbol of Japan's sun known as hinomaru to tie in the branding of the Japanese flag.
